The Embassy of the United Arab Emirates was inaugurated in Havana, on October 5th, 2015; during an official visit of His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, H.E. Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba and H. E. Bader Almatrooshi, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Cuba, attended the ceremony.
The Embassy is accredited to Cuba, the Republic of Haiti, Jamaica, Dominican Republic and the Federation of Saint Kitts and Nevis; and also serves as a representative to the Association of the Caribbean States (ACS). Besides, the UAE Embassy in Havana also handles relations with the Commonwealth of Dominica, Saint Lucia, Antigua and Barbuda, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines and the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago.
